Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong are the three coastal provinces in Southeast China. They are geotectonically located in the Mesozoic-Cenosoic active continental margin zone, therefore, rich in building materials and nonmetallic minerals. Besides, they have other favourable conditions such as the easy transportation and communication, the rich manpower, the better basic industries and installations. In order to meet the increasing requirements on the world market and make more foreign exchange earnings, we must quicken our steps in exploiting the building materials and nonmetallic minerals in this area.
