摘要
上海百乐门舞厅在民国时期烜赫一时,从舞厅的建筑造型上看,它是深受西方"艺术装饰"风格影响由中国建筑师设计的优秀建筑;从舞厅的经营内容上看,它是引进欧美交际舞术和中外歌舞演艺荟萃的重要场所;从舞厅的历史沉浮来看,它是体现民国女性追求独立自主和捍卫公民生存权益的特殊空间。以上诸多元素汇聚交织在一起,所折射出的一系列问题,构成了以现代性为切入点,进一步认识和理解中国近代都市舞蹈尤其是歌舞厅舞蹈生产、传播、流变与接受的更为广阔的艺术社会学视角。
Shanghai Paramount Ballroom had its greatest moments for a time in the period of Republic of China. It was an important public place where European and American social dance as well as overseas and domestic singing and dancing performance ones had been gathered together in terms of its business operation; a special place which embodied the female's pursue of the independence and defending the survival rights and interests of citizens; The abovementioned elements are interwoven to reflect a serial of problems that constitute, with the modernity as the point of penetration, the wider perspective of arts sociology to further learn and understand modern urban dance in China, especially the generation, spread, deformation and acceptance of the dance in the dance hall
