The interration between carbapenem antibiotics and valproic acid

目的探讨碳青霉烯类抗生素与丙戊酸的相互作用,提高用药的合理性和安全性。方法通过监测3例用碳青霉烯类抗生素联合丙戊酸的患者用药前后丙戊酸血药浓度,并结合文献,探讨碳青霉烯类药物与丙戊酸相互作用。结果碳青霉烯类药物可明显降低丙戊酸的血药浓度,增加患者癫痫再发的可能性。结论碳青霉烯类抗生素与丙戊酸存在显著的相互作用,导致使用丙戊酸的患者诱发癫痫,应避免联合应用。

Objective To explore the interaction between carbapenem antibiotics and valproic acid （VPA） for improving the safety and rationality of drug use. Methods The concentrations of VPA in serum were determined before and after using VPA combined with carbapenem antibi- otics in three patients. By analyzing published reports, we explored the interaction between carbapenem antibiotics and VPA. Results Carbap- enem antibiotics can decrease the serum concentration of VPA, and increase the possibility of epilepsy recurrence. Conclusion The interaction between carbapenems and VPA is remarked. Seizure could be evoked in the patients treated with with carbapenem antibiotics, which VPA if they were co - administered should be avoid.
