摘要
菜名是饮食文化的重要组成部分,是餐饮服务人员与顾客沟通交流的桥梁和纽带。中式菜名英译在弘扬我国饮食文化中发挥着重要作用,但英译时常出现误译。翻译人员在英译中式菜名时应讲究一定的策略,掌握英译的一些基本方法。政府有关部门应加强对中式菜名英译的监督和管理。搞好中式菜名的英译对促进对外交流,树立我国良好的国际形象和实现语言的规范化具有一定的现实意义。
The names of Chinese dishes, the bridge and link between staff and customers of restaurant, are an important part of the diet culture. The correct English translation of the names of Chinese dishes may promote our food culture. Unfortunately, many mistranslations appear. The translators should have a deep grasp of the strategies and some basic methods. The relevant government departments should strengthen supervision and management. The correct and proper English translation of Chinese dishes plays a certain role in promoting the exchange with the for- eigners, establishing a good international image of our country and realizing the standardization of the language.
