从认知隐喻视角比较英汉颜色词“红”

A Contrastive Study on the Cognitive Metaphor of the Color Term "Red" in English and Chinese

颜色词是语言中的重要部分。由于受地理、文化和宗教等因素的影响,颜色词在中西方文化中除了表达颜色的意义以外,往往具有独特的象征性意义。近来众多研究发现,隐喻是一种重要的认知工具。本文以基本颜色词"红"为例,基于认知隐喻的相关理论,比较研究"红"在英汉语言中的语义异同,试图揭示语义和文化的关系。

Color terms are important in human language. Influenced by geographical, cultural, religious and other factors, color terms in Chinese and western culture tend to express not only the basic meaning of color, but usually different symbolic meanings. Many recent researches show that metaphor is a crucial cognitive mechanism. Based on the relevant theory of cognitive metaphor, this paper aims to study the semantic similarity and difference of basic color term ＂red＂ in English and Chinese and tries to reveal the relatibnship between semantics and culture.
