According to western men's theory, the discursive power associated with men's identity and body is constructed beyond the social ideology and changed with history, culture and society. It has the quality of being subverted and reconstructed. The male characters in Edward Albee's plays are i passive, emasculated and play the roles of being defeated and alienated. Albee's portrayal of the dis- torted sexuality relationship, especially the emasculated male characters, proves him to be a serious critic who subverts the long-rooted main stream ideology in which the conventional male images are constructed.
