From the Marxist feminist perspective to interpret That Evening Sun , the tragic fate of the heroine Nancy, roots in her low economic status and the bourgeois ideology under the economic basis. The double oppression of the white people and Nancy＇ s black husband and the traditional concept of chastity finally lead to her destruction. The tragic fate of Nancy reflects the black women＇ s fate in that times, her destruction is inevitable living in the decadent bourgeois society.
