To detect the volatile content of coal coke is a strict criterion test. A lot of factors will have impacts on the accu- racy of detecting. Tests and discussion on the factors such as specimen preparation, environment conditions, method for storing samples, testing facilities, materials and burning time have been done. This paper puts forward the methods for im- provement which resulted in good result.
