白坚武与日本人士的交往相当广泛。其中有不少主张中日友好的,但大多数都是军国主义者,白氏认为都是他反对蒋介石的同志。痴心妄想在这些人的支持下建立独立自主的华北国。结果沦为汉奸,被处死。

Bai Jianwu had an extensive friendship with Japanese people. Among them, many advocated a friendly Sino-Japanese relation, while most of them were militarists. However, Bai Jianwu considered all of them as his ally in fighting against Jiang Jieshi. So he dreamed of foundiog an independent country of North China supported by these Japanese. Finally, he became a traitor and was executed.
