“年表法”评价期刊全文库收录范围的思考与实践

Thinking and Practice of Evaluation on the Coverage of Full-text Databases by“Year List of Journals”

现有期刊全文库期刊导航在揭示数据库收录刊种和年限上存在差异和不足,而当前研究数据库收录范围时往往直接使用期刊导航的数据,为此文章提出了用年收录期刊表——"年表"评价全文库期刊收录范围的"年表法",并以三大中文期刊全文库收录农业期刊为例进行了实践,同时提出图书情报机构应编制"期刊出版总年表"作为衡量期刊集合收录范围客观标准的观点。

There are differences and shortcomings in current Journals Navigation to reveal the periodicals and their date in full-text databases, however, it is common at present to use the data retrieved by Journals Navigation directly when ranges it come to the study of database coverage. Therefore, it is proposed in this paper to use the ＂Journals~ Year List＂ list of journals included in a database every year-to evaluate the coverage of the full-text database. This article illustrates such practice by agri culture journals in three major Chinese full-text journal databases, and suggests that library and information institutions should compile the ＂Total Year List of Published Journals＂ as the subject standard to measure the coverage of a journal database.
