The exploration on upgrading mode of the equip- ment manufaeturing industry driven by industrial design in Chang- zhot, provides theoretical foundation and practical instruetiou. Based on product innovation, the industrial design plays a leading and driving role during the industry upgrading process. On the basis of the clear relationship between industrial design and industry upgrading, considering the industry situation in Changzhou, the basic upgrading mode idea of equipment manufacturing industry is presented from the four perspectives of strengthening the ideal introduc- tion, constructing industry platform, promoting the cooperation of manufaeturing, education and research and attracting talents.
