Voluntary Service Development in China: Achievements,Problems,and Prospect

我国志愿服务事业经过长期发展,取得了巨大成就。但是,志愿服务事业发展的总体状况依然不容乐观,如志愿精神尚需进一步普及,志愿服务发展的组织基础薄弱,志愿服务的协调机制尚不健全,全国性志愿服务立法滞后等。为此,需在以下几个方面进行改进:普及志愿理念,弘扬志愿精神;加大政府对志愿服务的支持力度;完善志愿服务的协调机制;推进全国性志愿服务立法进程。

Since 1949, the voluntary service in China has experienced four stages（sprout, start, development, and deepening） and achieved great successes. However, there are some problems in voluntary service in China such as： volunteerism needs to further popularize, organizational foundation of volunteer service is weak, voluntary service coordination mechanism is not perfect, and national volunteer service legislation is lag the development practice. Given this, the paper provides with some improvement measures as follows：to promote volunteerism; to increase government support for volunteer service; to perfect volunteer services coordination mechanisms and to improve national volunteer service legislative process.
