Some sugars, such as lactose, maltose, raffinose, glucose etc. can increase the purity of DC\-\{12\} compared with sucrose. The value of pH can affect the process of producing DC\-\{12\}. Controlling the pH value between 7.5~8.0 can highly improve the production of DC\-\{12\}. \%Candida tropicalis \%can symport the DC\-\{12\} with H\++ to the outside of the cell.
