On the English Translation of Literary Dialect from the Perspective of Relevance-Adaptation Model

以关联-顺应模式为理论框架,阐释了中国文学中方言的广泛运用及其重要性,探究了当前文学方言翻译的现状和困境,运用例证法,分析大卫.霍克斯《石头记》中文学方言的英译,寻求文学方言英译切实可行的翻译途径。

From a new cognitive perspective, this paper expounds the wide application of dialect in Chinese literature and its significance within the fi＇amework of relevance-adaptation model through probing into the English translation of Chinese literary dialect and its dilemma in order to find out the feasible translation strategies with illustrations on the dialect translation in The Story of the Stone by David Hawkes.
