摘要
论辩体裁学术写作体现书面沟通的逻辑性和对话性,是不同文化背景下高等教育阶段写作能力培养的重要方面。作者与读者对话的有效性决定语篇能否达到说服读者的目的,但不同文化中人际意义实现的方法不同。本文采用功能语言学的人际功能观,运用评价理论中的介入系统,对比分析英汉语论辩体裁的范文,讨论英汉论辩体裁学术写作中自言和借言的使用差异,尝试拓展和深化自言系统范畴,进一步探索英汉论辩体裁写作中介入系统的跨文化差异,提高中国大学生英语论辩体裁学术写作的人际对话意识。
Embodying the logic and dialogic characteristics of written communication, argumentative writing has become an important objective of higher education in various cultures. The effectiveness of interpersonal communication between writers and readers decides the pervasiveness of argumentative writing. However, different cultures may employ different instances of interpersonal function. This paper takes the perspective of functional linguistics and employs the engagement system to analyze the English and Chinese argumentative sample essays. By comparing and contrasting the monoglossic and heteroglossic systems of argumentative essays, the paper attempts to elaborate the domain of monoglossic system. The paper further explores the intercultural differences of engagement system between English and Chinese argumentative writing. The paper aims at enhancing the interpersonal dialogic development in English argumentative essays written by Chinese college students.
