In order to achieve the goal of coming into power or a continuous time in office, the British Labour Party has constantly adjusted their guiding ideology in hundred years of development process. From the macroscopic level, the evolution of British Labour Party＇s guiding ideology has showed the characteristics of four dimension, which are the general trend that from the earlier left to the later right, gradually converging with the liberalism, the influences of the tread unions turning from strong to weak, and the major change always taking place in opposition and in economic and social areas. The formation of these characteristics, which is not only relevant to the British social development and changes as well as the British traditional culture, but also relevant with the Labour Party＇s own organizational features and its political status, is the result of the combined action of the Labour Party＇s development and the British state condition.
