This article analyzes the gas inflow mechanism and characters in fully mechanized longwall faces with top coal caving where gas inflow rate is high. The article proceeds to discuss the effective ways to control the over-limit concentration of gas in coal faces with high gas inflow rate. The article finally gives some directions in which measures are to be taken to further combat mine gas inflow in fully mechanized longwall faces with top coal caving in the future.
