摘要
本文是对夏威夷地区 O′ahu.Maui及Hawaii岛的实地考察报告.位于岛链最东南端的大岛上的Hawaii火山至今仍在喷发,景象极其状观.现代活火山及各种伴随的地质现象,是当今地学研究的前沿阵地.它既给人类带来各种自然灾害,但也为板块运动的研究提供了生动的例证.
A scientific expedition to the O' ahu,Maui and Hawaii Islands is reported. The Hawaii volcano at the south - east end of the Big Island is still active. Lava flows and volcanic explosions give rise to serious hazard but they have made a grand scenery. Active volcanoes and their associated phenomena provide direct evidence for the movement of plates,which are one of frontier of modern geology.
