On the Principles Applied in the Training of College Students’Pragmatic Competence

学习语言的最终目的是提高语言的语用能力。语用能力是运用语言进行得体交际的能力,是交际能力的重要组成部分。而英语作为交际工具,语用能力的培养在英语教学中的重要性是不言而喻的。通过对高职高专教师英语教学与学生的英语语用能力现状进行分析,理论联系实际,提出了高职高专教师在英语教学中应坚守的几个原则,这些原则不管是对学生的全面发展,还是对教师的业务水平提高,都具有独特的不可替代的实用价值。

The ultimate goal of learning a language is to in, prove the pragmatic competence. As an impor- tant part of communicative competence, pragmatic competence is the ability to use language for proper communication. As English is a communicative tool, it is important to develop students＇ pragmatic competence in English teaching. By analyzing the current situation of higher vocational college English teaching and students＇ English pragmatic competence, the paper combines practice with theory and puts forward some principles the higher vocational teachers should apply in English teaching, which is of practical value in the overall development of students and the improvement of teaching qualities.
