The study analyzes the nature of the artification of cartographic language and the ways of the artification of cartographic image language. The author believes that the nature of the artification of cartographic language is to make the cartographic language fully reflect the user-friendly design concept, which requires maps to be more readable and interesting, especially by meeting the readers＇ advanced needs such as aesthetic, emotional, communicating, entertaining needs, etc. The main ways of the artification of cartographic image language is to improve the technical, aesthetic, graphic and emotional aspects of cartographic image language. The study describes the practical methods to improve the technical, aesthetic, graphic and emotional aspects of cartographic image language. The author also compares the atification and its methods of cartographic image language in electronic map and the traditional map.
