Chinese medicine master WANG Mian-zhi's experience in treating brain disease with Chinese medicine

在介绍老师王绵之教授对脑的结构、生理、病理认识的基础上,重点介绍其对难治性脑病的遣药组方思想,突出其独特的治疗脑病的用药特点。结构上脑为髓海,居清虚之地;生理上脑赖于脏腑精气特别肾精、气血的充养,心脑同主神明;病理上脑易虚易实,易寒易热,虚为脏腑精气血不足,实乃痰湿瘀内阻。治疗强调病证结合,注重补肾精、养气血、化痰瘀等法的综合使用。

On the base of introduction of recognition of Professor WANG Mian-zhi on the structure, physiology and pathology of brain in Chinese medicine, mainly introduced his thought on how to select suitable herbs to combine recipes, and his characteristics of treating intractable brain diseases. Regarding its structure and physiology, brain is on top the site of the body, needing silence, and kidney essence, qi and blood nourish brain so as to control mental as well as heart in Chinese medicine. In pathology, brain is liable to cold and heat, and brain disease is liable to deficiency and excessiveness. Deficiency syndromes mainly contain insufficiency of kidney essence and qi-blood, excessive syndromes phlegm, dampness, and blood stasis. Professor WANG emphasizes the combination of differentiation of Chinese medicine and disease of western medicine while making a diagnosis, and he is good at comprehensive using of methods of nourishing kidney essence, strengthening qi-blood, removing dampness, phlegm, and blood stasis when treating intractable brain diseases.
