宋代的分题分韵活动,一部分作为宴饮游戏活动的次要部分出现,娱乐性较强;一部分在具有诗会性质的期集或偶集上出现,也伴随棋酒游宴,但诗歌创作与竞技性占主导地位。不同的创作语境中诗人的创作心态自然有别,但对大多数现场与非现场的品评者而言,速吟而精准的产品,无疑是具有普遍性的标准。宋代士人的阶层意识与风雅追求,推动了兼具竞技性与娱乐性的分题分韵活动的发展与普及,并使之固化为一种知识层习俗而被长久传承发展。

The Song Dynasty poetry-making activity of assigned topic and metrics would appear some- times as a highly entertaining minor part in feasting and drinking activities, and sometimes in the periodical or incidental poet gatherings. It was often accompanied by chess-playing, drinking, traveling, and feasting activities with highlighting poetry-making and competition. With different production context, the poets＂ mentality in poetry-making is surely different. Yet for the majority of on-site and off-site critics, the fast-composed works of superb quality is undoubtedly a universal standard. The hierarchical notion and noble pursuit of the Song scholars boosted the development and popularization of this competitive and entertaining activity, making it an established custom for the intellectuals.
