On How to Use National Holidays to Promote Traditional Festival Culture

在我国四大传统节日都有了法定假日后,政府相关部门要引导人民群众过好节,并使传统节日文化深入人心,则需要充实和建构传统节日文化体系,增强传统节日的现代性文化内涵;尊重和推广民众创造的有益的新节俗,鼓励民众拥有个性化的过节方式;发挥各级政府的主导作用,组织民众开展丰富多样的节庆文化活动。

After China＇s four major traditional festivals are made national holidays, the relevant govern- ment departments are supposed to guide people＇s celebration to achieve the aim of promoting our national culture. In doing so, traditional festival culture has to be enriched and reconstructed to increase its modern cultural meanings. The good new customs invented by the people are to be respected or promoted, and individualized celebrations are to be encouraged. And governments of all levels ought to take the lead to organize people to carry out colorful celebration activities.
