An electric power with a reverse phase connected for a mine main ventilator will cause a poor ventilation and large quantity gas ( CH 4 ) keeping in underground mine. A voltage dropping, lacking of phase or other uneven case will cause the main ventilator to have a speed reduction, which could bring a serious risk to the mine safety. The basic function of the mine low speed and reverse revolution alarm device will have a sound and light alarming when the main ventilator is in reversing revolution or the rotary speed of the ventilator is lower than the allowed value. The speed/rotary direction sensor is consisted with two light/electric couplers and a light chopper. When a light line of the light emitting diode is stooped by a mass in a recess, a light - sensitive transistor will be stopped. When outputting a high voltage, when a light line is through the recess to the light sensitive transistor, the transistor will be opened to output a low voltage. The speed is measured with a T method. When the rotary speed of the fan motor is in low speed, the T method will have a higher measuring accuracy. A rotary direction can be judged by an output signal from the sensor. The alarm can complete calculation and control functions by 80C31 processor. The paper introduced the module and software design of the sound/light alarm.
