伯明翰学派文化观念的反思与展望

Reflecting and Looking ahead of Birmingham School's Cultural Concept

1964年英国伯明翰大学当代文化研究中心成立以来,伯明翰学派便开始登上历史舞台,针对当代文化发展提出了一系列先进理论,其中最具代表性的就是对于文化的重新定义。然而由于对于民众的过高看重和对现代社会的不清醒认识,伯明翰学派逐渐走向了文化民粹主义的理论发展困境。认识到自身研究存在的不足,并借鉴其他学派的先进思想,伯明翰学派一定可以走出理论发展的误区,再一次对世界文化理论的发展做出贡献。

Since the Contemporary Culture Research Center has been set up in Birmingham school in 1964, Birmingham school hoarded the stage of history and put forward a series of theory about the contemporary culture development, the most representative theory is redefining the culture. However, as they gave too high value to the common people and didn＇ t understand modem society clearly, Birmingham school walked into the Cultural populism dilemma. Realizing themselves＇ shortage and referencing other school＇ s advanced theory, Birmingham school can walk out the misunderstanding and do contribution to the world culture theory development again.
