One Calculation for a Governing Condition of Longitudinal Stress Formula of Cylindrical Shells Under Internal Pressure in ASME Ⅷ-1

ASME Ⅷ-1规范对内压薄壁圆筒的厚度给出了环向应力作用下和轴向应力作用下两个计算公式。ASME Ⅷ-1规范还说明:轴向应力作用下圆筒厚度计算公式使用条件之一是环向焊接接头系数小于纵向焊接接头系数的二分之一。本文对这一使用条件给出了一种证明方法。

ASME Ⅷ-1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code provides that the minimum thickness of shells under internal pressure shall be the greater thickness as given by circumferential stress formulas or longitudinal stress formulas.The longitudinal stress formulas will govern,at one of the conditions,only when the circumferential joint efficiency is less than one-half longitudinal joint efficiency.This article gives the process proved for the governing condition.
