从经典中过滤出经典——浅析从英语诗文、歌曲中学习词汇拓展

The Classics Filtered from the Classics——A Discussion on the Methods of Enlarging English Vocabulary from Learning English Poems, Short Articles and Songs

词汇是英语语言知识的诸多因素中举足轻重的因素。普通高校英语专业的学生至少需要掌握7,000个英语词汇,英语词汇量是学生们的基本技能。虽然许多大专院校不仅给英语专业班的学生开设了综合英语等多门比较注重词汇教学的专业课程,以便于扩大这些学生的英语词汇量,同时还开设了诸如英语词汇学教程等课程来帮助学习者了解英语词汇的构成规律并掌握一定的词汇量,但是学生们依然觉得词汇是他们掌握英语语言的一大障碍。本文通过对英语诗文和歌曲进行的深入学习和研究尝试一种从经典作品中学到扩展英语词汇的方法,以期达到丰富英语学习者英语词汇量的目的。

Vocabulary is one of the most important factors which influence the learning of English. It is essential for the students of English major at the common higher universities and colleges to master at least 7,000 English words. Although many of these universities and colleges not only open such English major courses as Intensive Reading, Extensive Reading and British and American Literature, which often deal with English words and expressions, but also the course of English lexics to help the students of the English major to understand the formation of English words and master a certain amount of English words and phrases; yet, many of the students still consider vocabulary as one crucial difficulty for them to learn English better. This paper does do its study to try to show that the appreciation of classical English songs, poems and short articles proves to be an efficient method to enlarge the learners＇ English words, in order to reach the goal of enriching the leamers＇ English vocabulary.
