Position and Function of German Military Consultant Delegation in China from 1928 to 1938

德国军事顾问团在华地位的变化是与德国政界、经济界的关系紧密联系的。但当德中两国利益相矛盾时,德国顾问团明确选择了中方的立场与利益,这与德国顾问团的私人性质密切相关。这种性质使其不同于纯粹的官方顾问团,不受政府的具体政策约束。中德两国的利益需求通过德国顾问团为中介而联系起来。一方面顾问团因这种需求而产生和发展,另一方面顾问团又促进了两国关系的发展,最终因利益需求的消失,顾问团也结束了历史使命。

The status of the German military consultant delegation in China closely linked with its relations to Ger- man political and economic groups. But if there were conflicts between China and Germany, the delegation definite- ly chose the position for the interests of China, due to its non -official nature which differed from the official dele- gation, free from the specific policy restraint of the government. The delegation formed and developed because Sino -German interests and needs were interrelated with its help as a mediator, meanwhile the delegation promoted bi- lateral relationship of the two countries. The delegation ended its mission finally when the common interests of the two countries vanished.
