On the Principles of Determining the Middle Chinese Conjunction Items

中古汉语连词相对于上古汉语有了较大的发展变化,它已成为了中古汉语语法的重要研究内容。系统深入地研究中古汉语的连词,首先要准确地找出此期汉语所使用的连词词项。因此,根据连词的定义,从语法功能和语法意义两个角度确定判断此期连词词项的正确原则,就成为了研究中古汉语连词最为重要的基础性工作。参照这些原则,可以对有关中古汉语连词中一些似是而非的语言现象加以辨析,从而准确地离析出在中古汉语时期使用的连词词项。

Compared with that in Ancient Chinese,conjunction in Middle Chinese has experienced great changes and obvious development,which has been considered one of the important research topics of Middle Chinese grammar.To systematically study the Middle Chinese conjunction,the conjunction items of this period must first be accurately located.Therefore,the most important basic research work is to establish the principles to determine the correct conjunction items which had been used in Middle Chinese according to the definition of conjunction and from the angles of grammatical function and grammatical meaning.By referring to these principles,some ambiguous language phenomenon about the Middle Chinese conjunction can be correctly identified and the conjunction items used in Middle Chinese can be specified.
