Enlightenment Predicament from the Gender Perspective

从性别视角考察五四新文化运动,新女性的塑造主要由男性倡导和推动,旨在实现中国社会的现代转型。致使新女性遭遇的诸多困境,凸显出个人解放与社会制度转型的矛盾,女性解放与男权中心为基础的社会运动之间的冲突。延伸到其后中国共产党把妇女解放统摄到阶级、社会解放的出路选择,女性获得的始终是在不触动男权制的权力框架内的有限解放。

Examining the New Culture Movement from the gender perspective, the enlightenment intellectuals shaped women and liberated them in order to achieve the modern transformation of Chinese society. The dilemma of women highlighted the contradictions of personal liberation and transformation of the social system as well as the women＇s liberation and the patriarchal center-based social movements. This was extended under the China Communist Party, which unified women＇s liberation from class and social liberation. Within the patriarchal framework, women could only experience limited emancipation.
