The advantages and disadvantages of various types of round billet heating furnace are presented, the paper focuses on the design idea of walking beam type round billet heating furnace, and the key points of design are described and analyzed, especially the cloth spacing, block form, block shape parameters, and the heat supply pattern and furnace profile selection are given.
