H.J.Muller,a renowned geneticist and one of the most famous leftist scientists who sympathized and supported socialism in the 20th century.He went to the Soviet Union to carry out scientific research.In order to protect the genetics of the Soviet Union,he criticized Lamarckism pervaded in Russian biology circle in name of Lenin's philosophy.He experienced personally Stalin's persecution of Russia's geneticist and Lysenko's rise,and fought against them bravely.Subsequently,he began to criticize Stalin and Lysenko for their totalitarianism and persecution of science and called on the people all over the world to treasure the thoughts of science and protect the freedom of thinking and scientific research.
