This paper analyzes the three important jobs put forward by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the 12th Five-year Development Plan of Textile Industry, sums up the problems of production technology and development direction mainly discussed in the 16th National New Spinning （Technique） Symposium and expounds the advantages of new spinning technologies （such as rotor spinning, air jet vortex spinning, compact spinning, Siro spinning） and the development status. It is believed that the development of new yarn by combining new spinning technologies and new materials is the main development direction of spinning industry in future.
