Composing Principle of “Phoenix-flying-on-the-clouds Embroidery” in Mawangdui Tomb of Han Dynasty and Origin of Auxiliary Graphic Design

乘云绣是马王堆汉墓出土绣品的3个重要纹样中的一个,研究发现,其设计图式和图形构成方法与现代VI设计中辅助图形的创意方法有着深刻的渊源关系。在探讨渊源的基础上,进一步对乘云绣设计的形式与方法以及辅助图形设计的形式进行了对比的分析研究,意在从古与今对接的某种契机里,为VI设计中的辅助图形设计提供更好更多的创造方法,以活跃、丰富当代的设计。

Phoenix-flying-on-the-clouds Embroidery is one of the three main patterns of embroidery in the Mawangdui Tomb of Han Dynasty. Its design schema and graphical composing method has deep and original relations with the creative ways in modern VI design. Based on its original analysis, this article focuses on the form and methods of Phenix-flying-on-the-clouds Embroidery and the patterns of the auxiliary graphic design, aiming to offer more creative methods for auxiliary graphic design in the field of VI design with both ancient and modern experience and more varieties for the modern design.
