摘要 乔治·艾略特的《米德尔马契》中女主人公多萝西亚对婚姻的选择,既是由维多利亚时期英国的社会现实对女性的要求所决定,也是主人公的性格缺陷所决定的,更是作者依本人的女性观而刻意安排。 Dorothea Brooks is the heroin of George Eliot＇s masterpiece Middlemarch. The girl＇s choice of her two mar- riages is the result of the social reality of the Victorian age, her own character defects, and above all, the author＇s feminine consciousness.
