摘要
概念音乐剧(Concept Musical),又称"反音乐剧",它打破了叙事音乐剧(BookMusical)以故事为核心的"线性叙事"(linear narration)结构,摒弃了摇滚音乐剧①彻底反叙事(non-narrative)的戏剧理念,以某个或多个"概念"(conceptual theme)为核心,采用一种"非线性"(non-linear)、片段化的叙事方式展开戏剧创作。本文将以概念音乐剧大师斯蒂芬.桑坦(Stephen Joshua Sondheim,1930-)的作品为例,阐释其概念音乐剧所呈现出来的具体戏剧特征。
Concept musicals are also known as "anti-musicals". The concept musical deconstructs the linear narration of book musicals, discards the totally non-narrative ideas of rock & role musicals, and introduces a non-linear, segmental narrative with one or more conceptual themes as the core to develop a dramatic production. The article analyzes works by Stephen Joshua Sondheim and explains the dramatic features displayed in concept musicals.
