On the Image Construction of People's Action Party in Singapore

人民行动党稳握新加坡政权半世纪之久且政绩卓越,在新加坡乃至全世界范围内都树立了良好的执政党形象。新加坡人民行动党形象建设包括:在政党属性上,人民行动党努力打造"全民党"的形象,淡化其阶级色彩,超越执政党掌控国家公权力主要为统治阶级服务的狭隘印象,以一种"执政为全民"的姿态得到更多人民的支持,成为延续自身执政合法性的重要因素之一;人民行动党最具代表性的符号当属其党服、党徽及党总部大楼,这些符号惟妙惟肖地诠释出人民行动党的自然形象:"白衣""行动"及"低调";人民行动党的干部及其政府部门的行政官僚皆属于现代化精英,处事风格有"理性化"及"唯效能"等特质,但人民行动党并非完全自我局限于新加坡的上层精英圈中,呈现出与人民脱节的孤傲形象,相反,人民行动党努力将自身打造成一个高质量、受爱戴、有活力的精英党;人民行动党每次都以绝对的优势取胜,足以证明新加坡国民对人民行动党的执政能力是认可的,而人民行动党的执政能力尤其体现在反贪护廉、亲民爱民和卓越的执政绩效上。

People＇s Action Party has been holding the political power of Singapore firmly for half a century, achieving outstandingly. The party establishes a fine image of the governing party in Singapore, even all over the world. The image con- struction of People＇s Action Party includes： in the aspect of party nature, People＇s Action Party strives to build the image of a catch-all party, understating their class connotation. The party transcends the narrow image that governing parties master the national public power and only serve for ruling class, and such behavior of ＂serve for all publics＂ wins more people＇s support, becoming one of the factors to maintain the legitimacy of the party＇s power; the most representative symbols of People＇s Ac- tion Party are the party dress, the party emblem, and the party headquarters building, which interpret the natural image of fine resemblance： ＂white costume＂, ＂action＂ and ＂low profile＂; the cadres of People＇s Action Party and the governors are all mod- ernizing elites, whose styles of dealing with affairs are characterized by ＂rationalized＂ ＇and ＂efficiency-oriented＂. However, Peo- ple＇s Action Party is not only limited in the upper elite circle of Singapore, presenting an aloof image beyond people, on the contrast, they try their best to build the party as a high-quality, beloved and vigorous elite party; People＇s Action Party is al- ways the winner in all previous elections, improving the acceptance of Singapore nationals to the governing capacity of the party which is manifested in the combating corruption and upholding integrity, being close and loving civics and the excellent gover- ning performance.
