陈列语言是博物馆学的重要研究对象,"陈列语言"这一术语在中西方不同语境下也呈现出不同的含义。总体而言,陈列语言不等同于文字说明,也不是单纯地研究某一陈列手段的实践操作,而是陈列策划的指导总则及理论基础,只存在于成功的陈列安全中,是"好"的陈列的内部结构及规律的综合。

As an important object of study, ＇the language of exhibitions＇ represents different meanings and extents in different contexts. It is not a textual description of the exhibition, nor a study of some specific exhibitionary practices, but principal guidelines and theoretical basics of museum curation. It tells the inter- nal structures and regular patterns of effective exhibitions and is seen in successful exhibitions only.
