As one of the greatest thinkers in China, Confucius had prolific and profound thoughts. Most of his life was dedicated to education; thus the educational theories and practices formed his unique aesthetic education. This paper explores the modern significance of Confucian aesthetic education basing on the groundwork, form and purpose of Confucian aesthetic education and its implications on contemporary u- niversity education
