十八大报告把社会主义核心价值观概括为24个字"富强、民主、文明、和谐;自由、平等、公正、法治;爱国、敬业、诚信、友善。"社会主义核心价值观继承弘扬了"仁义礼智信"的精髓,体现了中国特色。"仁"即"友善爱国";"义"即"公平正义";"礼"即"文明和谐";"智"即"求真敬业";"信"即"诚实守信"。

The report at the 18th CPC National Congress epitomizes the socialist core value as ＂richness, democracy, civilization, harmony ; freedom, equality, justice, rule of law ; patriotism, dedication, honesty and kindness＂, which inherits the essence of ＂benevo- lence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and trustworthiness＂, reflecting the Chinese characteristics. Benevolence means kindness and patriotism; Righteousness means fairness and justice; Propriety means civilization and harmony; Wisdom means seeking truth is prag- matism; Trustworthiness means honesty and faithfulness.
