清·喻嘉言大胆采用缓治法治疗急危重症，其依据是临床辨证不明、病邪在中，无力受药、虚不受补及妊娠患者，难以承受顿挫病势、抓起沉疗之急治。具体方法是灵活运用膏、丸、散剂，取药量轻、药味精，药液分次进服的给药法以及食疗、药疗、精神颐养的有机结合。

Yu Jiayan who was the famous doctor of TCM in Qing Dynasty dealed with the acute or severest symptoms by the mild treatment fearlessly. His methods were according to the confusion of ideals in the diagnosis and the inner Evil Qi or the patients were too weak to be benefited and pregnant women, because it was bad for them in the changed degree of the disease suddenly and the hard treatment. He neatly managed electuary, pill or POwder, controlled the quantity and essential of herbs, took the liquid medicine time without number.
