As a literary critic with unique style in the history of Chinese modern literary criticism, Li Jianwu＇s critic theory and practice are both deeply influenced by western im- pressionist criticism. The influence is reflected in maintaining critics＇ independence and equal status, valuing the art aesthetic perspicacity and intuitive appreciation. He is one of the best and most representative critics of Chinese impressionist criticism. However, he de- viates as necessarily while he accepts western impressionist criticism in combination with Chinese modern culture context to strengthen modern awareness and scientific spirit of criti- cism. Thus, Li Jianwu forms a critic pattern and style that belongs unmistakably to him alone.
