中国非英美国家英语文学研究的垦拓与勃兴

Pan- English Literature Studies in China: Its Budding and Blooming

20世纪后半期以来,非英美国家英语文学在世界范围内开始崛起,这极大地丰富了传统的英语文学,也受到了世界英语文学批评界的广泛关注。在英美文学于我国外国文学研究中占据绝对优势的格局下,开展非英美国家英语文学研究不论是从学术探讨和国家建设的层面,还是从文化传播和和谐世界的角度来看,都具有不容低估的价值和意义。非英美国家英语文学在中国的研究先后经历了一个拓垦期与勃兴期。相关研究虽有长足进展,也存在一定的局限性,还不能很好地立足本土视角,在批评自觉、本土意识和文化自信方面还明显不足。但随着中国学者的扎实努力和文化自觉的加强,中国非英美国家英语文学研究必将在不远的将来拓展出一片十分广阔的学术空间。

In the second half of 20th century, the Pan-English literature began to rise ab- ruptly around the world. Its rising not only compliments the traditional English literature, but also draws the attention of world English literature academia. Considering the over- whelming superiority of English and American literature studies in the framework of foreign literature research, to conduct the Pan-English literature studies in China is of great signifi- cance in the academic debate, nation building, Chinese culture dissemination and world peace maintaining. The Pan-English literature studies in China developed from its budding and then into its blooming. The literature review shows that our studies have some defi- ciencies for lack of domestic perspective, critic consciousness and cultural confidence. With the unremitting efforts and the surging cultural awareness of many Chinese scholars, the Pan-English literature studies will embrace a brighter future and earn more respect from the overseas academic community.
