摘要
19世纪中期美国大学体育校际比赛诞生,随着1906年全美大学运动联合会的建立,大学体育竞赛发展迅速,但大学女子体育竞赛由于本身的特点被长期排除在全美大学运动联合会之外,发展缓慢。美国大学女子体育竞赛经历了发展的雏形、AIAW统一全国大学女子体育竞赛、教育法第九修正案对大学女子体育竞赛的推动、进入NCAA后的大学女子体育竞赛等发展过程。目前和男子大学生运动员一样,美国女子大学生运动员已成为美国参加奥运会的支柱。
The first national collegiate championship was started in the mid-19th century. Along with the establishment of the National Collegiate Athletic Association （NCAA）, college sports competitions have been developing rapidly. However, because there are some unique problems in developing women＇s competitions and because they had long been excluded from the NCAA, collegiate athletic competitions for women witnessed little progress. It was the enactment of Title 1X and the inclusion of members of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women （AIAW） in the NCAA that greatly boosted the development of US women＇ s college sports.
