In the 1960s,answering the call of the Chinese Communist Party and the central government, the Shanghai educated youth took an active part in the wasteland-reclaiming and frontier-assisting move- ment in the construction of Xinjiang. Thanks to the Shanghai educated youth,various fields in Xinjiang were greatly improved and in the mean time, the educated youth themselves gained a lot of exercises and became more mature. The history of the Shanghai educated youth＇s wasteland-reclaiming and frontier-as- sisting in Xinjiang inspires today＇s youth in their growth and future accomplishment.
