A Representative Work on the Development of Theoretical Historiography of Contemporary China ——A Review of LI Zhenhong and LIU Kehui's Monograph Theories and Methods in Historiography

李振宏、刘克辉合著的《历史学的理论与方法》一书,是一部表征着新时期中国理论历史学发展历程和水平的重要著作。这部理论历史学著作具有多方面的价值和意义:第一,它见证并且体现了改革开放以来中国"史学理论"学科建设的基本历程;第二,它是中国理论历史学研究从"历史理论"向"史学理论"过渡历程基本完成的一个标志,也是"史学概论"或"史学理论"体系趋向成熟的一个标志;第三,它在历史认识检验标准问题上提出了历史哲学发展史上独树一帜的"历史之真"标准说,堪称是"一家之言";第四,在目前同类著作中,它第一次认真地探讨了历史学发展的基本规律这一重要的史学存在学问题,并且首次把历史学的学科规范纳入到"史学理论"学科体系之中。

The monograph Theories and Methods in Historiography, co-authored by Li Zhenhong and Liu Kehui, is a major work with multiple values and great significance, representing the development and levels in the new period of Chi-na theoretical historiography. Firstly, it witnesses and reflects on the fundamental development of the disciplinary con- struction of theoretical historiography China＇s reform and opening-up. Secondly, it marks the end of the transition from ＂historical theories＂ to ＂theories of historical science＂ in the theoretical research of China＇s historical study field. It also symbolises the maturity of theoretical systems of historical science. Thirdly, it presents a separate viewpoint of the stand- ards of testing the truism of the past, among other views or sayings, during the development of the historical philosophy. Fourthly, among contemporary works of this kind, it is the very first work to seriously explore the basic laws of history as an important issue of historical ontology, and to introduce academic norms and standards into the disciplinary system of historical theory.
