摘要
基于半导体放大器(SOA)的增益饱和效应,提出了一种简单的实现多功能超宽带(UWB)调制的方案。方案采用一个光源和单个SOA,可以实现脉冲波形调制(PSM)、脉冲幅度调制(PAM)和脉冲极性调制(BPM),因此实现容易、结构简单和成本低。利用OptiSystem软件对方案进行了仿真研究,分析了各参数对调制信号的影响以及信号的传输特性。结果表明,本方案对光源的波长和光源的光功率的变化不敏感,仿真输出的调制信号在单模光纤(SMF)中可传输35km。
We propose a simple scheme for realizing multi-functional ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse modu- lation based on the gain saturation in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). In the scheme, adopting only one SOA and optical source can achieve pulse shape modulation (PSM), pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) and bi-phase modulation (BPM),which is with easy implementation, simple structure and low cost. By using the software of OptiSystem, the impacts of parameters and transmission characteristics of signal are numerically simulated and studied. The results show that this scheme is insensitive to the wavelength and source power change. In addition,the modulation signal can be transmitted for 35 km in the single mode optical fiber.
