The Key Issue for Jiangsu in Constructing a Powerful Province of Higher Education: Reflections on the Construction of Top Universities

高教强省的内涵是指该省高校综合水平高,对全省经济社会贡献度强。高水平大学能创造出一流的教育质量、科研成果和社会服务,是高教强省的关键。为实现高教强省战略目标,江苏省在重点建设高水平大学过程中要借鉴世界一流大学建设的共性成功经验,如加强教育国际化发展、建设跨学科科研团队、组建高校战略联盟、开展产学研合作等。

A powerful province of higher education requires the colleges and universities in this province enjoying high comprehensive level and making substantial contributions to the provincial social and e- conomic construction. Top-level universities, with their first-class education, fruitful scientific resear- ches and social service, are the key factor in constructing a powerful province of higher education. In order to realize this strategic goal, Jiangsu Province should borrow the successful experiences of the top universities all over the world, such as the internationalization of education, interdisciplinary re- search teams, strategic universities alliance, and industry-university-research cooperation.
