摘要
文章首先综述了美国继承语教育的发展背景及其教学实践,然后提出美国继承语教育对我国少数民族语言保护的启示意义,主要体现在四个方面:重构少数民族语言保护的概念;少数民族语言保护的最佳途径是促进使用;评估双语教学的效果;政府、学术团体和少数民族语言共同体多层次参与民族语言保护。
This paper reviews the background of American heritage language education and its teach- ing practice, and suggests its implications for the protection of China' s minority mainly in four aspects : reconstructing the concept of protection for best means of protection being the promotion of use, assessing teaching, and ic groups and languages minority languages, the the effects of bilingual the multi -level participation in the protection by the government, academ- minority language communities.
