摘要
研究基于应用语言学SSCI论文语料,对比Simpson-Vlach和Ellis编制的学术英语词块表(AFL),提取应用语言学领域学术英语高频词块,制定应用语言学3-5词学术词块表(ALFL),并对ALFL和AFL出现频率最高的200词块进行对比。研究发现,尽管AFL对学术英语研究和写作有教学和实证意义,但不能全面地呈现应用语言学领域研究论文中词块的应用情况,编制具有学科特色的词块表并进行学科间的词块对比,是非常有必要和教学意义的。同时,词块在各个学术领域承担相似的语用功能,并且词块结构和语用功能紧密相连。
This research creates an empirically derived, pedagogically useful list of formulaic sequences in the discipline of applied linguistics, called the Applied Linguistics Formulas List (ALFL), comparable to the AFL (Academic Formu- laic List) compiled by Simpson-Vlach & Ellis in 2010. After a thorough comparison of the top 200 frequent formulaic se- quences in AFL and ALFL, the research reveals that AFL is of great significance in EAP learning and teaching, but it fails to represent the overall application of formulaic sequences in applied linguistics research papers. Therefore, it priori- tizes the necessity of compiling discipline specific formulaic sequences lists. What's more, the research also proves for- mulaic sequences play similar pragmatic functions in different academic disciplines.
